You are Relevant

God has been dealing with me on the fact that we are all relevant.  We were all created for a purpose.  The plans that God has for us are always good, just look at what He says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Unfortunately, we sometimes find ourselves in conflict with what we want or what others want for us, or what we think we want, but how do we know when it is ordained by God or it's just our want?  The bibles states that "the blessings of the Lord maketh rich and add no sorrow," are you experiencing sorrow? Conflict is defined as "to contend with or against another in strife or warfare."  For the sake of clarity, I want to share that, we are not in conflict with God, but with those things that oppose us being in the will of God.  God's word is true and eternal and it would not be beneficial for us to try to fight against it.  Some things are not meant to last, we must recognize when the end of the thing is present.  For instance, for a long time in my life, I was seeking to feel whole and fill the voids that existed in my life, I was looking in all of the wrong places, and it wasn't until I realized that I had had enough of myself and my ways, (they were so unsuccessful), that I recognized the need to let go of what I thought was right and received God into my heart and began to follow His way, after all, He is the way, the truth and the life.  This way was much more fruitful and eternal than my way could ever be.  Let me show you in Isaiah 40:8 as it states, "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever."

So regardless of our best effort, we can never do in a lifetime what God could do in an instant.

Our conflicts in life stems from "thing(s)" that would try to hinder us from being relevant in this hour.  The "thing" that we are consciously or unconsciously warring against could be a variety of things: unforgiveness, jealousy, strife, contentions, hurt, rejection, people, situations, the list is endless.  We could be mad at a family member, co-worker, church member, the person who cut us off on the highway etc., If we are not careful, left untreated, these things will try to consume us.  We must deal with the negatives in our life.  If we let them sit too long these "things" will try to present themselves as indestructable, but please believe that we serve the one and only true and living God, who has all power in His hands.   He can move mountains. We must yield our unsuccessful efforts to dispose of these things and instead use God's word, God's word is powerful! Believe it, love it, and use it!

When we continously try to fight, alone, we drain ourselves, and often wonder what happened to our strength, the trick from the enemy is, to tire us out so that we won't fight back, but this is a lie, He will try every trick in the book to distract you from learning God's word and the power it offers when used effectively.  The enemy will try to convince you that that particular thing you are struggling with is normal or is suppose to exist in your life. He will even make you ashamed to share it.  Pain, heartache, confusion, etc, are not to be a norm in our lives, especially since we are children of God. We must be mindful that the goal of the enemy is to "steal, kill, and destroy," so whatever portals are open, we need to gain strength enough to shut it, and plead the Blood of Jesus over it.  Remember, the joy of the Lord is our strength!

Time is out for allowing the enemy to constantly convince us that these "things," are meant to exist in our life.  Our portion as children of God is to know that we are victorious in Christ Jesus! God gives us victory over our enemies and He puts our adversaries to shame (Psalm 44:7). So, let's receive our victory!!!  We must refuse to accept the issue that life tries to present as our portion.  It's time and now is the time that we all allow God to reign in our lives.  We have the spirit of God living on the inside of us and that is not a small thing, it's RELEVANT and that in and of itself makes us RELEVANT!  How brightly can our light shine if we are allowing our light to be shaded by mixed, indecisive, and unfruitful thinking?  In the natural if you pile shirts, jeans, socks, etc., on your lampshade, it's hard for the light to radiate through. We have to decide to let some things go.  It is quite simple to do.  We are fully capable and equipped to end a chapter in our life that has nothing to do with us receiving our eternal reward, and I am not talking about an Oscar or a Noble prize, but the ultimate prize, to see Jesus.

We often know when it's time to let things go for the bible states in Ecclesiastes 3, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?"  We can all determine where these "things" that hinder our growth are in our life, is it adding to you spiritually or is it taking away?  What time is it for that thing that is trying to hold you back from knowing and believing that you are relevant?

Being RELEVANT isn't about advertising how drama filled one's life is, the clothes we wear, the money we have, the number of friends., but how well we follow through on the instructions that have been given to us by God, how well we live out God's word before others so that they can see the fruit and experience the impact of God in a life that is sold out to Him.  The bible says “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven,” (Matthew 5:16). The following is a statement to Paul from Jesus, and I believe that his applies to us today,  "I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me" (Acts 27:17). Because of this sending annointing, we must be ready to move as God instructs and not wavering or lacking in understanding or wallowing aimlessly in a sea of hindering issues.

Wherever our feet are allowed to tread, we should leave an imprint, whatever we start, we must finish, we should commit all of our ways unto God, acknowledge Him in all that we do so that He can direct our path, everything we do must be done in a spirit of excellence, we should always work as if we are working unto the Lord.  The definition of relevant "is having significant and demonstrable bearing on the matter at hand" or in one word  Pertinent.  Pertinent means "to belong to something by inherent character, right assignment, or established association." Our inherent character should exhibit a similitude to Jesus Christ, we must be operating in the right assignment given by God, if we don't know what that assignment is, we must ask God, and lastly as we find ourselves in established associations (church, relationships, professional roles, parental roles etc.,) it is vital that we understand that we are relevant.

Make a difference where you are, make yourself available to do that by asking God to set you free of any and all obstacle that have been placed in your way.

You are RELEVANT: Accept it, live it and believe it!
