Awakened to another day of anticipation
Today is the day when life speaks a new series of demands upon our lives. It may be family, church, personal, or professionally related. However, God touched each of us and gave us strength, through our joy towards Him, to do all that is required of us today. No matter what your tasks are today, I encourage you to “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed, (Proverbs 16:3).
Have you ever found yourself facing a huge amount of tasks? And attached to those tasks were immediate deadlines or ambiguous instructions? Typically in this situation, our response may be, “I don’t know how I am going to get all of this done!” It may appear overwhelming at first. In our strength it may look impossible, but I know that in God’s strength great things can be accomplished, obstacles will be overcome, and victory will be the end result.
I like this scripture “Cast thy burden on the Lord and He will sustain thee. He shall never permit the righteous to be shaken (Psalm 55:22).”
Let’s break this down a little bit...
1. Cast thy burden on the Lord
a. Definition of cast: Project: put or send forth
b. Definition of burden: An onerous or difficult concern
2. He will sustain thee
a. Definition of sustain: supply with necessities and support; confirm: establish or strengthen as with new evidence or facts
3. He shall never permit the righteous to be shaken
a. Shaken being defined as agitated
This is going to be short, because I believe God is just good like that and if you know Him, I don’t have to spend very much time convincing you.
Whatever it is you have to do today, that seems huge in your sight, is a small thing in God’s sight. So “cast thy burden on the Lord.” Did you ask why? Well, according to Hebrews 12:28, “…we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.” He is awesome and demonstrations of just how awesome he can be will manifest once, you give your task over to Him today. Try it!
Lord we thank you for this day. We open our hearts and release unto you those tasks that are before us. We thank you for your grace being sufficient and how your power is made perfect in our weakness. We bless you for your love towards us and another opportunity to experience your power and awesomeness in our lives. We love you Lord! Amen
