Refreshed
Today was so beautiful and I am so thankful to God for allowing me to exist in it.
I took a walk in my childhood neighborhood this morning, and it was so pleasant to see God's creation: the new budding flowers, fresh green grass, flowing water in the lake, birds chirping, beautiful blue sky, puffy clouds and the sun shining upon me.
As I took all of this in - the wind began to blow.
It was a gentle breeze, and I couldn't help but think about the Holy Spirit. He is such a gift to us. I continued to walk and I felt myself lighten in the breeze. I became a tree, whose limbs and leaves swayed with the wind.
Have you ever notice dead leaves on trees, when the wind blows, they fly off the tree onto the ground and ultimately fade away?
Well, I must share, that in that moment, I allowed the wind of the spirit to blow away any dead leaves (residue from the past, doubts, fear, worrying, stress etc.) off of me.
My desire is to be a flourishing and beautiful tree, providing nourishment and solitude to the area where I am rooted and to those I encounter.
Are you flourishing in the place where God has placed you?
I continued my walk and as I arrived back at my childhood home, I was new and I walked with a spring in my step.
I was refreshed and feeling even more purposeful.
2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new."
