Children

But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these (Luke 18:16).

This is a picture of my youngest son riding his trike. I saw this picture last night and I couldn't help but think of the above scripture. My son loves to praise God. He has no fear and does not think twice about when or where He will praise Him. We will praise God in stores, while visiting others, in restaurants, at the park and recently I learned that he praises God at daycare.

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it (Proverbs 22:6).

When he praises, I respond in many ways, sometimes, I smile, clap, sing, or I hug him, I just love it! Reinforcing this behavior with these positive gestures is helpful in training my children to follow Christ and it works. Its beautiful and my heart rejoices over the fact that, within his cute little existence, he has a sincere desire to worship and praise God.

In His own precious way, he never fails to express his constantly growing love and understanding of God. He is not ashamed, he does not seek out praise from men or confirmation as to whether its ok, he is just free.

There is so much that can be learned from our children. Watch them, they are so cute!

Believe, Love, Obey God
