Water and Light for GROWTH
Graciously the wind blew in the midst of the heat that was experienced this week. It swayed and led us to our various destinations.
Day after day, like the flowers and plants of an earthly garden we seek after refreshing water – God’s word. Tucking our roots a little deeper into soil, we reach the cool of the living waters. We yearn for the water to spring forward so that our stems and leaves can stretch out and live.
Just as natural plants need water and light to transform into a useful food source and flowers to radiate beauty, spiritually we to need to be watered and exposed to light – frequently, for growth.
As we treat our roots to the refreshing and nourishing Word of God, we are able to absorb these precious power sources to be transformed into the beautiful and fruitful beings that we were created to be. Fearfully and wonderfully made and called to bear fruit of love, peace, faithfulness, joy, goodness, gentleness, patience, self-control, and kindness.
Our light and water source spoke these things to us, “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life (John 8:12),” and “But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14).
Drink water and stretch out to the light today, display your fruit and beauty
Prayer
Father God, we bless your name, all good and perfect gifts come from you, may we demonstrate this truth in our lives always. Amen
