Early morning fight

Yesterday, I wrote about the fight between Spirit and flesh. Well wouldn't you know that that would set in motion a number of rematches for my day? I am happy to report that the Spirit is still victorious.

This morning, my fight came early. I was asleep and words began to drop into my spirit like rain into a river. Rising to catch them was not easy, for my body was demanding that I stay tucked in the comfort of my bed. But there is a scripture that says, Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread (Proverbs 20:13). With this in mind, I made a decision to press past the comfort of sleep being provided by my bed to my body.

I picked up my bucket (journal) to capture the following words:

Our decision to choose God's will over our own desires, feelings and ideas will take us farther than we could ever imagine, to places we could never imagine or get to in our own strength.

Choosing to hear God and turn a deaf ear to man's opinion will send our self confidence levels soaring through rooftops that have been built according to mans standards. This will serve as a demonstration of the supernatural power of God. He is able to activate and control the powerful capabilities of us fearfully and wonderfully made beings.

Choosing to quiet our soul as purpose speaks will encourage us to fully engage in only the activities that lead to success and accomplishment in life. As a result there will be moments to rejoice and countless opportunities to praise our God in heaven.

Choosing to stay on the straight and narrow path is prevention to spending time earning an all expense paid ticket to nowhere.

Choosing to love in spite of brings healing to a heart that has been wounded by the arrows of offense, doubt, fear, neglect, rejection, hatred and misunderstandings.

Splash around in these words for a while. I know I will be.

My prayer is that these words increase your wealth of knowledge and understanding and prove to be bread to your soul today.

Believe, Love, & Obey God
