Missing Word

Sitting in the midst of the early morning, quietly listening as the world speaks profoundly of all its plans and purposes for its inhabitants. Concern strikes as lightening as Time complains that there will be no opportunities to meet all of the commitments. Right as overwhelming feelings strolls in to take a seat, eyes of the believers look up to the hills from where their help comes from. Comfort and peace hand in hand, slide downward declaring victory over the plans the world has made for our lives! Together they stand and declare, "And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides forever."

Set free from yet another temptation of the world, to worry, to fret, or try to accomplish things in our own strength, we begin to eat the Word after comfort and peace set us at the table to recover. As we gain our strength for the day, we ponder as to what caused us to experience this morning’s recent events! Recalling our steps, got out of bed, turned on the t.v., listened to the radio, and checked the phone, hmmmmm. Something was missing. From a now satisfied spirit, these words surface, "O God, thou art my God; EARLY WILL I SEEK THEE...." (Psalm 63:1 KJV). Yes, that is it...missing Word.

Seeking God early is important and can be accomplished in any number of ways. This is how we capture God's plans and purposes for not only our day but our life. Let us be careful to not lose sight of God's Word. Keeping it first in all that we do, will ensure that we are not subject to the same concerns that the world has. We are after all Kingdom citizens.
