Break Me!
SN: Sometimes its a fight to write. Some blogger knows what I am talking about. But thank God for making a way when there seemed to be no way.
If you have kids, more than likely you know what it is like to go into a store and have them beg you over and over and over and o....(you get the point) for a toy. You give in. I know I am not the only parent who has given in so don't look at me funny. Anyway, you buy the toy and when you get in the car, not home, phase two kicks in and the child begins to plead over and over and over and ooooover that the toy must be opened NOW. 3, 4, and 5 stop lights and IT happens. The message may come in a scream or a cry or something disturbing to the driving experience...the toy is broken. There is a refusal on your part to go back to the store to replace the toy, money wasted... Its ok, it will take a minute to get over it, and then to the trash it goes. I am just being honest. Sometimes toys are beyond repair and/or it may cost you more to get them fix. So off to the trash it goes.
Toys bought new, get broken or don't get played with after 48 hours often find itself in the garbage or donation box sooner or later. That is just how it is sometimes.
God makes us new, we indulge or live lives that get us dirty, sometimes barely recognizeable, raggedy, bruised, stubborn, o I could go on and on but I think you get the point. Fortunately God is not like we are as parents when it comes to our children's toys. He doesn't toss us out when we are all messed up. He waits and looks for the chance to reconcile us back to Himself and once He has us, He breaks us! Ouch, it doesn't feel good but it is necessary in order for us and for Him to see improvement to our quality of life and our ability to perform the task in which He originally designed us. Hmmm, think about it......
Have you been broken by God? As funny or odd as it sounds its a painful but sometimes necessary break. I say this because being broken by God is alot better than being broken by yourself or someone else. You might abandon yourself or experience the painfull feeling of someone abandoning you and that isn't really a good feeling. I know, I been there. I am sharing so much, yikes. But I pray someone hears me and know that God is a healer and a restorer. Its great when you live to tell about it, unlike the toys who didn't get a second chance at life, I can still tell you how I made it. Amen.
How do you know if you have been broken, as much as it hurts to go there, I am going to do it. You know you have been broken by God when the reality strikes you that everything you thought you were so smart and big and bad enough to do, you did it and found that IT NO LONGER WORKED. Your efforts were unproductive and only increased the depth of the hole you found yourself living in. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? My goodness, I can answer that, it profits you nothing but a sad and unfulfilled life. Don't ask me how I know because I just may tell you. Anyway, to be broken by God is good for us, may not feel good in the process but know, when God sets you up right, makes a few minor or major adjustments (depends on how much you need) straightens you out, polishes you up, fixes a few self inflicted rips or tares, your entire appreciation and perspective towards life or shall I say His plans for your life are so much beneficial, clearer and better looking than those that you could have ever made for yourself. God puts us in a display case called life and therein we influence others to live life according to God's standards and we last alot longer than those other toys made by those manufactures.
Who would have ever thought that being broken could be so beneficial. Break us Lord! Please Break us!
