$1 is too much for a drink of water
Water is important to our bodies. In the summertime when we are hot we drink water to cool ourselves to create some sense of comfort. Let’s not forget the swimming pool; we use a lot of water there too. Even when fires occur we use water to extinguish it, sometimes a lot of water. Water is vital for the growth of living things. There are many uses of water.
I want you to consider all of the bottles of water that you have purchased, the number is probably innumerable. When we consider each bottle of water that we have all consumed, that is surely an infinite number, whew! Our various humanistic needs for water keep us going back and forth, forth and back to the stores so that we can have water handy when these needs arise. No matter what, the life of the bottled water expires quickly. We carry water bottles everywhere, because it is convenient.
The Word of God is everlasting water. See what Jesus said below:
John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
When we ‘drink’ this water, our spirit man will be nourished; the water that is stored up inside of our spirit will spring up inside of us during intense or pleasant moments of life, and we experience great comfort because of the presence of Jesus in our life. Like a swim in a pool, when we submerge our hearts in the word of God, we can feel his loving arms around us. During troubling times, we can find peace in the word of God. As we walk with God, study His word and apply His word, we grow whole and healthy in our lives producing much fruit. During fiery trials, like a fireman saving a fire victim with a fire blanket, God encases us with His word. No matter how uncomfortable a situation is, God’s word is able to flow and smooth out all of the bumps and lumpy places.
I encourage you to saturate yourself in and with His word, it is like being fortified, strengthened, empowered and completely fulfilled.
The best thing about it is that it won’t cost you a dollar; it has already been paid for, just pick up your bible and drink.
