Checked out your P.I.C lately?

When was the last time you checked your High School yearbook picture?

Oh my goodness, my picture…well let’s just say, I have come a long way…whew! It truly reflects my natural condition back then.

Praise God!

The bible isn’t a yearbook, but it is very much a life book. It reflects our spiritual condition then and now.

Checked it for your P.I.C (Place in Christ) lately? Some will share that at first glance, their P.I.C was a mess (raising my hand). “Born in iniquity and shaped in sin.”

Yikes!

But somewhere along the journey through life, I met God, the Giver of life. The more I walked and talked with Him, the better I began to look and the more convinced I became that I was “fearfully and wonderfully made.”

I was relieved that I no longer had to wear make-up to cover up my sinful imperfections. An application of the Blood of Jesus did wonders! It erased all of those cracking and crumbling areas in my life that I thought were permanent.

I am so happy for the manifested power of the blood of Jesus in my life. As an added bonus, I received “beauty for ashes.” I never knew such a transaction could occur…what a transformation to my life!

I am so relieved that I don’t have to go another day unable to look in the mirror at what’s reflecting back at me. Yes, there was a season in my life when I didn’t look at my reflection for months; I was ashamed of the smudges that showed in the mirror framed on my bathroom wall. I needed a powerful solution to remove them.

Thanks to the bible, my life book, I learned that if I confessed my sins, He is faithful and just to forgive of those sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Just like that, the smudges were removed by a confession to God, its a great solution.

My P.I.C is so much clearer now and I am learning more about brightening my image each day of my life to reflect the image that was originally intended - God's image.

Scriptures to meditate

You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you. Proverbs 31:30

And the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him. Psalm 45:11

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth. Psalm 50:2

But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. 1 Peter 3:4

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Phillipians 1:6

The journey by which we discover God is also the journey by which we discover, or uncover, our true self hidden in God. It is a journey that we all have to make.--Esther de Waal

Prayer
Father God we bless your name. Teach us to worship you in the beauty of holiness. We yield to you to be purged of our imperfections so that we become only what you intend, not what we think we should be. Amen
