So close to Him…
Out of my heart springs words, each attempting to express the depth of my love for Him, but they can only express a small portion of what my soul desires speak. “What is man that thou art mindful or him; or the son of man that thou visitest him?” Thankful am I to be so close to Him.
Prior to my arrival on earth He knew me and made plans for me to experience an exceedingly and abundant life. Yet, I have to actively go after the inheritance that He left – the eternal prize.
He is the word. He left a trail of words behind for me to capture the essence of His glory. I seek after each of them and find that they give me hope, promise, love, encouragement, faith and desire to stay on the path that leads to our eternal meeting.
A glance back is quite unfavorable, for all that I need to get closer to him lies ahead of me. You see, with each step, I am able to take pleasure in the love He has for me; it is so strong, deep and wide that no mountain can hide it or valley can conceal it. His love for me springs up all around me as I lie in the garden of life considering and listening for Him to speak. While waiting patiently and expectantly, my soul sings “Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me (Psalm 119:133).” I sing it over and over until, the words rain down on me like a waterfall. My soul thirsts and He fills me. So close to Him, "Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
Can you feel Him close to you today? Can He feel you close to Him today? What can you do to draw closer to Him today?
