Shoo Fly!

Shoo, fly, don't bother me
Shoo, fly, don't bother me
Shoo, fly, don't bother me
For I belong to somebody.
Shoo is a term used to drive something away!
I remember as a child having to go directly into the house and not holding the door open too long because the longer it was held open, the greater the chances were that this unwelcomed visitor would come in……the fly.
Close the door before the fly comes in!
If one happened to get it, covering every food item to prevent spoilage and contamination was necessary. Then watching out for ‘it’ became the task. He was wanted DEAD or ALIVE (so we could shoo him back out the door!)
No matter what, there is no growing comfortable in the presence of a fly!
Buzz Frustration
Buzz Distraction
Buzz Irritation
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
An immediate and natural response is to chase the fly back outdoors, find a flyswatter or Raid.  No matter what, someone has to go and most likely, it’s gonna be the fly.  It’s a pesky little thing.  Carrying germs from place to place, yuck! That’s just nasty.  The longer he stays the more comfortable he gets and before you know it, he is ready to call your home, his home.  Say “not in here!” Flies are not welcome in this house.
Sin is like a fly. It’s nasty, and contaminates our lives when we leave the door open too long.  It’s not content just being sin alone but has to invite other sin in, the longer it stays, the more comfortable it grows, then it tries to claim your temple as its own and sends an invite to other sin family members to come live with it.
Close the door!
1 Corinthians 3:16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you.
Close the door before sin comes in!
No matter what, we can not grow comfortable with sin within!
Sin must be dealt with and dealt with IMMEDIATELY.  If not, it will use you as host for its offspring to breed. Yuck! Who wants that? Get sin out, shut the door in the face of sin.
Offer no breeding grounds for sin.
Sin ~ such a pesky little thing! They keep us back from experiencing the best of our life and walking in the fullness of our purpose as God has planned.
Isaiah 64:6 We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind.
We are so fortunate to have the ingredients for a most effective pesticide and it can be found in the Word of God.  Use it to get rid of sin so that it can be no more.  We have work to do.  Doors have to be closed tightly, screens must be checked for holes (you know flies come in through those…), when we toss out the garbage from life, we must make sure the bag is tied tightly, get rid of the mess so we aren’t giving off any stinky scents (sin is drawn to that), sin stinks itself and it wants only what it wants.  Do not let the enemy of your soul use your life as breeding ground to birth more sin. Yuck!
Galatians 5:19-21  When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,  idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,  envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Close the door to sin!

Shoo, sin, don’t bother me,
Shoo, sin, don’t bother me,
For I belong to the King!
