Silent Hurt
No one wants to talk about it. However, silent hurt is very real and it lives within many people, right now. Sometimes the eyes and smile lie. The eyes are truly the window to the soul and whatever the soul is feeling, will be apparent to those who peer a little longer and wiser. The smile lies, as it tries to hold back the breaths, that hold back the tears, that want to fall from ones eyes. Oh the pressure in the cheeks as those teeth clinch.
Silent hurt is born from pain that is great and small. Sometimes the hurt party never releases it because there seems to be no place to release it, or so they think. Pride, lack of expressive words, no safe outlet, shock, embarrassment ~ encourages the hurt one to keep it willfully hidden, tucked away in the recesses of their heart, mind, and soul. After silent hurt has been there for a while, it claims residency and gets comfortable and refuses to be moved. Not so.
No one has to accept this feeling, point blank. Silent hurt may be silent but it can still be felt, this alone brings evidence of its presence. It can be seen, like an ugly weed, in the midst of an otherwise beautiful garden.
Wholeness can be drained by the side effects of silent hurt. Feeling continuously deflated, during life giving and breath taking moments, is not good and help is needed. Fortifying this place with love and surrendering the pain will result in healing.
Fight for happiness by opposing that which opposes you. Address hurt directly by seeking its source. There is a lesson to explore there. There is wisdom to be gained. Learn and move on. Take your strength back. Use it as a platform to separate yourself and secure peace and love ~ for you.
Pursue your happiness with consistency and empty yourself by turning hurt inside out. Crying, writing, praying and talking through your hurt will break the silence that you need to be free. Get the release you need. Internally, everything has a place, but hurt is not supposed to live there. So kick it out! Live your life out loud. Be free and speak free.
Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Thank you for this post... I believe that many are dealing with silent hurt that festers like a sore that never heals, remaining open, susceptable to further hurt, pain, or damage. Until we are willing to be transparent and live life out loud... open only to what our Heavenly Father offers to healing, it will remain! love you for being obedient!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. How much more delightful life would be if we decided to release our hurts immediately to God. My hope is that the value of living life out loud is not decreased by the choice to embrace the hurt. That is not our portion.
