The ugly side of beauty ~
This title ‘dropped’ and as I tried to envision what the
ugly side of beauty looked like, I couldn’t.
However, I am convinced – that some truth has to exists, so, although
baffled, I will begin to type – RIGHT NOW
Have you ever walked into a place and the décor captivated
you? You find yourself lingering,
relaxing, and feeling an ease or comfort that you hadn’t in a very long
while? Everything around you is in its place,
shiny, lovely, and set just so. It didn’t
come to be that way by chance, sorry.
Someone had to WORK and put items in place, to create a space that you
would consider attractive, impressive, and that would heighten your appreciation
of it. This is the fact that is often
overlooked. Dusting, cleaning, clearing,
sanitizing, scrubbing, purging, waxing, and touching up, has to always take
place to get rid of the UGLY. Without
maintenance of the space, ugly will take over.
No one is screaming, SHOW ME THE
UGLY! SHOW ME THE UGLY! It is displeasing,
unsightly and unattractive.
Avoid superficial
beauty because it is deceptive. There is the
appearance of beauty but, with the smallest amount of pressure, that type of
beauty becomes undone and all the ugly will fall out. It’s like wearing a mask. Rather than fixing what needs to be fixed,
the desire is to hide the imperfections – behind the mask.
We are meant to be beautiful. This is relative to both male and female. Therefore, we need to clean up the ugly in our lives. We all have some ugly side, sorry – it’s the TRUTH. Unfortunately, some folks will show you ALL the ugly. Some folks will WORK to make sure everything is in place, to enhance their attractiveness, to impress, and provoke your appreciation of them.
We have to be true to ourselves and be willing to admit that
we need to engage in some deep cleaning: dusting, clearing, sanitizing,
scrubbing, purging, waxing, and touching up in our own lives. This means examining your heart, removing the
excess - let it go, weighing your intentions, being mindful of your actions and words,
releasing some hurt and learning to forgive (others and yourself). When we fail to do these things, our beauty
is interrupted. Do not allow this to be
your portion. We are preparing for a New
Year. Let’s clean ourselves up and SHOW OUR
BEAUTY! SHOW OUR BEAUTY!
John 6:63
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at
all. The words that I have spoken to you
are spirit and life.
