There is power in choice...

“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LordAnd if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lordchoose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:14-15, ESV).”

Have you ever found yourself in the moment of having to make a choice between two things? Icecream or cake.  Red shirt or blue shirt.  Good idea or bad idea. Faith or fear. Laughing or crying. So many decisions.  I want to encourage you to be mindful, attentive, and alert, when you arrive at this place.
When in relationship with God, we always have freewill, but it is best, to go the way with God.  Be as sincere and faithful to Him just as He is to us, with His promises. His promises are yes and amen.  Although other people may have decided to do something completely opposite, its OK to be in the minority OR the only one.  It is OK to take the narrow way, the unbeaten path, and to be the peculiar one.  It is OK to be different.  It is OK to hold your peace and allow God to fight your battles.  It is OK to understand that the race is not given to the swift nor the strong but to the one that endureth until the end.
I recently heard someone share that we do not have to wait until things are nice and shiny to act on them.  Sometimes, its best to move out in faith and let God sharpen and shine whatever you have committed yourself to do.  Let us not wait and wonder when God is saying Go now.  Let us not continue to pause seeking the advice of those who have not heard from the Lord.  Let us be confident that He who promised is faithful, if He said, I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children - and He did, please believe that He will do it. We do not have to doubt God, He has already made His decision, we only need to make the decision to choose Him.  Let us not waiver in our decisions.  Let your yes be yes and your no be no.  Let patience have her perfect work in you.  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16).
Take a position.  Choose a side.  Make a choice.
Blessings,
Tanika
