Isolation...

Isolation - voluntary or involuntary detachment from those that love you due to a present or persistent uncomfortable life situation. 

Have you ever experienced isolation? It is not necessarily a posture to brag about, especially when you are in it. 

The longer you stay in isolation, the further away the exit of the cave becomes from you. It's easy to enter in. Before you know it, the situation(s) that caused you to enter in, begin to grow more and more powerful. The situations thrive when you hide. They strain your friendship bonds. They cause you to abandon your people group and your assignments to them. They discourage you from praying. They cause you to become silent. They continue to grow because you give your focus over to it. Yes, the more you think about something, the longer you allow something to go unresolved, the larger it becomes. It becomes so large, that it seemingly overwhelms you and then begins to bully you in a way that decreases your motivation and when you do not have motivation, you become comfortable, spiritually lazy and slightly paralyzed mentally. 

The issues of your soul are not supposed to rule you, they are to be ruled by the wealth of your rich spirit. 

Isolation is not for those that have purpose. It's not for anyone, actually.

Have you ever acted your shoe size and not your age? 

Have you ever allowed situation to eat away at your confidence? 

Have you ever allowed unforgiveness to hold you hostage? 

Have you ever refused to pick up the phone and phone a friend, who you know, without a shadow of doubt, has the key to open the lock to that emotion that is keeping your bound? 

Isolation will rob you of:

• Time 
• Life
• Light

Your awareness of the light that exists at the opening of the cave will fade slowly. Isolation will have you cuddling with the darkness that is trying to overwhelm you. 

However, it is the flicker of light, deep within you, that keeps you from allowing yourself to be overwhelmed by the darkness, the pain, the frustration and the shame. It is the flicker of light within you that reminds you of the passion that needs to be fueled by the Word of God. It is the flicker of light within you that causes you to sing THAT one line from the song that sets your soul free. Keep singing that one line. 

Sing it low. 

Sing it until you SCREAM it. 

Sing it until the shackles fall from your mind, soul, feet, and your folded arms. 

Sing it until you can STAND. 

Sing it until you take the first step, then the next and then the next towards the light. 

Sing it until you smell the fresh breeze of the morning air. 

Sing it until you feel your skin being sun-kissed by the sun. 

Sing it until you feel the water from the waves splash across your feet. 

Sing it until you no longer hear, see, feel or breathe the presence of Isolation calling you back into the throws of its selfish arms.

Your tribe matters. Your friends matter. They are your ONLIES, COMRADES and SUPPORT in this life. Do not rob them of the opportunities to help you. Ask for what you need and do not RETREAT into ISOLATION.

Come out. God will help you to establish your footing. God is waiting on you. Remember, nothing can separate you from His love or His love from you.
